"Micro-Publishing for the Writer's Soul" is a 3-day online course designed to help you connect, create, and share your work in a beautiful (and manageable) way. Alongside other writers, you will step through a nurturing process to create a short piece of writing and share it with a micro audience – in ways that honor and empower your writer-self.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Micro-publishing: A gift to your writer-self.

All too often, writers face limitations and hurdles, from the need to invest many hours over weeks, months, and even years before being ready to even consider sharing, to the struggle of finding a publisher, dealing with marketing, and then facing potential criticism or harsh feedback.

This process can be challenging, painful, and burdensome. It can erode self-confidence and take the joy out of writing. For many writers, it can undermine the ability to be creative or the desire to contribute art to the world.

We believe it doesn't need to be this way. Micro-publishing focuses on your writing as a gift, and it helps shine your light. The writing itself is short, and the audience is small… yet micro-publishing can be a powerful gift to you and others.

Micro-Publishing for the Writer's Soul is important because your writing is important. You hold a wonderful gift within you, and expressing yourself gives voice to this gift. Micro-Publishing for the Writer's Soul helps you boost your writing practice – and your impact as a writer.

How it Works

This is a short, hands-on course that is designed to be manageable, supportive, and enjoyable. Every day for three days starting December 6, you will receive an email with a direct link to the day's lesson and materials. The link is sent at 3 a.m. Eastern time (ET) so that it's ready for you when you wake up. Please set aside approximately 60-90 minutes to come in and read through the day's lesson, listen to a recorded mindset, complete a hands-on activity, and join the discussion (optional) to share your thoughts and learn from the insights of others.

Format:

Step by step, you will be led through a powerful process:

Preparing to write. Realize that you hold a gift within you and connect with what you deeply want to say.
Tapping creativity. Pour your heart into a short piece of writing that gives voice to your writer-self.
Shining your light. The world needs more art and connection. Use this opportunity to release your creation into the world.

As you complete each day, we'll be beside you, encouraging and supporting you every step of the way!

What you'll create:

Over the course of three days, you will plan, create, and micro-publish a small but mighty piece of writing. Through lessons, activities, and discussion, you will write from the heart and capture the essence of what you want to say in a very short and manageable piece of writing – able to fit on a postcard-sized paper. You’ll put your heart into it, create something you’re proud of, and then share it in a way that feels deeply right to you.

Where will you micro-publish?

We offer three options. Each one is designed to honor you and your gift:

1. Micro-publish through us. For the Writer's Soul has established partnerships to share with people who could benefit from a piece of written art – and who would love to read what you write. If you choose this option, someone who needs extra love or thought will be touched by your gift.

2. Micro-publish in your own way. This option empowers you to be creative in how you share your work by tapping into opportunities available around you – in both public and private spaces – and following what feels right to you.

3. Micro-publish as a gift. You might have a specific person (or group of people) in mind to receive your work. We will walk through options for sharing on a personal basis, either now or at a special time that you select.

Micro-publishing has value no matter which option you select. On Day 3, we'll walk through each of the options together and you will decide how to move forward – in the way that feels positive and wonderful to you!

This small but mighty project:

Honors your writer-self. When you have something to express, giving yourself permission to do so sends a powerful message that you honor and respect your writer-self.
Boosts creativity. With an opportunity to create short pieces of writing, your creativity has permission to go all in through short bursts that capture what you deeply want to say.
Helps build confidence. By setting parameters that are manageable, in both time and size, you empower yourself to complete your work, which can help build confidence in your abilities.
Gives you something tangible. By creating something to hold in your hands, read, and pass along, you give yourself the opportunity to see the beauty and feel the joy of your words brought to life.
Helps you make a difference. When you share your work beyond yourself, you contribute art into the world and give your writing the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.

Each day offers insights and creative activities to help you plan, create, and share a short piece of writing with a micro audience. The step-by-step guidance empowers you to honor your writer-self and connect with what is deeply right for you.

MINDSET EXERCISES.

Guided audio recordings are a peaceful and enjoyable tool to help you explore and adopt mindsets that empower, support, and encourage you throughout the project.

SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY DISCUSSIONS.

An important part of our course is the community discussions, where you're invited to share your thoughts while benefiting from the insights of others. It's an opportunity for us to discuss, share, and explore each lesson together. Note: sharing with the group is optional.

OPPORTUNITY TO KEEP YOUR PRACTICE GOING.

Our course closes with an opportunity to keep it going. We know you hold a wonderful gift within, and we want to help you continue to shine your light. At the end of the course, we'll invite you to participate in a special project to keep your micro-publishing going.

No matter what genre you prefer, you can write what is in your heart and shine your light for others.
